Job Description:

Reports to: President, Vice President, VP Teams, Project Managers, SAITSA and SAIT School of Business 

 

Job Summary: Overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of organization strategy and is expected to analyze figures and implement recommendations based on these findings with the most profitable outcomes. Often managing and leading a team through difficult periods including month end, year-end and annual budgeting, a VP Finance would have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff, often having to work with various departments to help them plan and manage their own budgets. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the executive team to grow the organization formulating strategies and plans

  • Lead and develop finance team

  • Manage the budgeting process and SAITSA Reimbursement Funding

  • Fixing and maintaining Enactus SAIT’s accounts with SAITSA and SAIT Restricted Fund

  • Assist Project Managers with the preparation of budgets for funding applications

  • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including auditing

  • Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly updates to Team and Executives

  • Presentation of annual accounts with recommendations

  • Review of accounts and investigation of variances

  • Project management accounting

  • Ensure that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with contract agreements with funders

  • Facilitate and build proposals for sponsorship to external firms, in partnership with VP External

  • Oversee and supervise all matters of Finance within the organization and ensure due process is performed effectively

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have the Enactus Spirit!

  • Be driven, passionate, outgoing, and ambitious

  • Must be organized, punctual, reliable, and accountable

  • Preferably have at least 1 year of school left and is an accounting/finance student

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and be able to find opportunities

  • Have patience and understanding while remaining persistent

  • Be able to demonstrate strong integrity and self-awareness

  • Demonstrated experience with Enactus

  • Previously taken relative Finance classes is preferable
